Cass Regional Medical Center's Laboratory Department performs tests that are an essential part of both inpatient and outpatient care. Our Lab is a support service for doctors in and around our area, and our accurate and efficient test results help our doctors quickly diagnose a patient's condition or illness. Our Lab is accredited by The Joint Commission, and is certified by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), which is a program designed to ensure quality laboratory testing. Christin L. Weller, MD, serves as the medical director of Cass Regional’s Laboratory. The lab's mission is to provide accurate, reliable test results, treating each patient's test as if that patient were a family member.

Cass Regional's Laboratory offers a wide variety of outpatient testing, including CBC, APPT, PT (ProTime), lipid, glucose, alcohol, TSH, PSA, ABO/RH type, type and screen, pregnancy testing, strep screens, influenza A&B, RSV and mono. The Lab also offers urine drug screen testing for contracted clients only.

In order to have outpatient laboratory testing, patients must obtain a written order from their doctor's office or have their doctor's office contact our laboratory. Please check with your insurance carrier to make sure your lab test costs will be covered if you come to Cass Regional. Some companies have contracts with specific laboratories, which may require you to be seen in one of their facilities. To check in, patients must present their identification and insurance cards to our Patient Access department, and then they will be directed to the Laboratory.  

Depending on insurance, testing will be performed at Cass Regional or forwarded to Quest Diagnostics. Results of lab tests sent to Quest are not available to us and must be obtained by your physician. If you wish to request copies of your results, contact your physician's office or Health Information Management at (816) 380-5888, extension 7710. Our laboratory does not perform batch testing, which can delay results. Therefore, routine tests are reported quickly and faxed to the ordering physician upon completion.

Hours

Cass Regional's Laboratory is open for outpatient procedures on the following days:

Monday through Friday - 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday - 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday - Closed

The Laboratory is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to help with Emergency Department and inpatient laboratory needs.
